It's the quality of our employees, says Rusty Breeden, explaining the dramatic growth of PLANIT Technology Group in Henrico County.
Located at 4405 Cox Road in the Innsbrook Corporate Center, PLANIT has grown from a staff of 20 to nearly 190 in only two years.
"We have some really good talent here," says Breeden, regional director of the Norfolk-based technology solutions company. "If I were to compare it to something, I would say each one of our employees is a great musician. But when they are put together, they become a great symphony."
PLANIT Technology changed its name from Dataline Consulting Services, allowing the company to reintroduce itself to existing clients while giving a new look in the Henrico-area market.
"We have a new name but the same commitments," Breeden says. "Our world continues to revolve around you."
PLANIT Technology has been in business for more than 18 years. It started as a reseller of computer hardware with two divisions serving the federal and commercial sectors.
With annual revenue of $100 million, PLANIT sold its federal IT business last year to concentrate on its commercial division. Clients include the Commonwealth of Virginia and Northrop Grumman Corp.
PLANIT is an information technology systems integrator, providing network solutions, security solutions, performance assurance solutions, staffing, architecture and design for communication and IT networks, and systems integration and implementation.
Innsbrook is a prime location to be near clients in healthcare, financial services, legal, manufacturing and distribution. "It allows us to be closer to them and respond to their needs faster," Breeden said. "If we agree to do a project, our people do it better than anyone."
More growth - perhaps up to 100 more employees in Henrico - is expected by year's end.
