Design Ready Controls Expands to the East Coast

New Facility in Greater Richmond, Virginia to Serve Region’s Growing OEM Customer Base

Minneapolis, MN – February 10, 2012– Design Ready Controls, Inc. (DRC), a leading provider of electrical control panel solutions for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) has expanded to the East Coast with a new 13,500-square-foot production and engineering services facility in Henrico County, Virginia.

DRC is investing over $300,000 in the new facility and plans to hire approximately 25 employees, including electrical wiremen, electrical testers, quality inspectors, office staff and warehouse personnel.

Patrick Conley, Director of Operations for DRC, said the new facility in the Richmond region will provide electrical control panels and engineering services to existing and new OEM customers in the East Coast region with quick shipment and just-in-time delivery capabilities. Conley noted, “We are excited to continue our robust expansion activities with a new facility in the Richmond area. This expansion is driven by our ability to provide the best delivered value in the industry for control panel solutions with regard to cost, quality, delivery lead-times and speed to market capabilities for OEMs across North America.”

DRC had previously added a new facility in the Portland, Oregon area to support OEM customers on the West Coast, in addition to their existing facilities in Rockford, Maple Grove and Minneapolis, Minnesota. DRC has plans to expand in other regions of the country.

The Richmond region was chosen due to its central location for serving the entire East Coast, a skilled local workforce, strong local universities and proximity to existing OEM customers in the region. The Greater Richmond Partnership, Inc. and Henrico County played a key supporting role in the move, assisting with site selection resources and providing guidance on local tax incentives programs.
