This 40+ acre parcel situated at the intersection of Dumbarton and Brook roads (U.S. Route 1) on the border of Henrico County and the City of Richmond is the site of the former Azalea Mall. Built in the early 1960s, it was the first enclosed mall in the Richmond area. After the mall closed in 1995, the main structure was demolished in 1998.
The site is currently zoned for business and office use. It is a prime site for an
intense urban mixed-use development. Significant reinvestment has recently occurred on adjacent properties. Additionally, it has excellent transportation access located on Route 1 and less than one-half mile from an interchange with I-95.
