Henrico County is seeking an ambitious and energetic candidate for the Executive Director of the Henrico Economic Development Authority (EDA). This position plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the entire operation of the Henrico EDA; provides effective leadership and management of the organization, and is accountable for sound operations and financial engagement.
The professional skills required for this position include: hands-on experience developing new business prospects and managing projects to successful completion; experience developing and maintaining sound working relationships with state and local appointed/elected officials and business and community leaders; strong financial management and budgeting experience; willingness to travel, including internationally; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software; experience implementing successful marketing initiatives; demonstrated track record of executing business deals, real estate transactions, project financing and public incentive negotiations that have resulted in successful developments; significant experience with industrial and commercial projects, including site selection, financing and land acquisition, building development and infrastructure completion.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Master's degree preferred) and a minimum of ten (10) years of highly visible senior leadership in the economic development arena or equivalent, including at the local level; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
