The Henrico EDA is seeking a professional to assist in its efforts for the recruitment of new companies. The successful candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and must possess knowledge of basic techniques in marketing and research. The candidate must have the ability to perform marketing functions independently and work well within a small team structure. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to write and speak with clarity and have a basic understanding of research techniques and to understand quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments.
Job duties will include:
Assists in development of target marketing campaigns and coordinates execution of campaigns.
Research and send appropriate follow up information
Prepare presentations, reports, and informational materials
Coordinate the completion of questionnaires, RFPs / RFIs
Work with the Greater Richmond Partnership and Virginia Economic Development Partnership as necessary
Plan and conduct prospect visits
Manage active projects
Maintain file/record management - electronic and hardcopy
Prepare reports as necessary from SalesForce.com
Coordinate with the EDA advertising agency to perform web site updates, social media outreach, and other electronic marketing
Help prepare informational publications, marketing materials, presentations, and e-newsletter
Coordinate special events, dinners, etc. as needed
Perform other related work as assigned
A four-year college degree with relevant business-related course work and two years’ work experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is preferred. It is desirable that the candidate have a working knowledge of industrial and commercial real estate and the skills to interpret corporate reports and financial data.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge and skills with graphic design and web design tools is desirable.
Starting salary for the position is $54,270.66.

Business Research Intern
The Henrico County Economic Development Authority (EDA) is seeking a Business Research Intern to assist the EDA in its efforts to execute business research and support projects for both the Existing Business and the Business Attraction teams. The Henrico EDA is the central point of contact for business development in Henrico County. This is a paid internship for the Summer of 2019 for a current student pursuing a degree in a field relevant to the internship.
Desired Area of Study: Urban and Regional Planning, Political Science, Business, Economics, Real Estate or other relevant fields
Desired GPA: Good Academic Standing, 3.0 and above
Desired Status: Current undergraduate or graduate student
Work hours: Up to 29 hours/week, generally flexible between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm from mid-May to mid-August
Work Location: 4300 E. Parham Road, Henrico, VA 23228
Rate of Pay: $12/hour
The successful candidate must possess knowledge of research skills, the ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form, the capacity to understand quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments, the ability to perform job functions independently, and understanding of proper business protocol, and the ability to work well within a team structure.
Job duties will include the following:
Perform research on local companies to identify their industry, revenue, employee counts, contact information, and primary executives
Call companies to verify their information and points of contact
File/record management, enter company and project information into SalesForce CRM database
Prepare reports as necessary from SalesForce
Performs other related work as assigned
