Research and Real Estate Coordinator

The Henrico County Economic Development Authority (EDA) is seeking a versatile research professional to be our go-to person for data sources, information, and departmental support of IT. The successful candidate must possess knowledge of basic techniques in marketing and business research, an ability to communicate clearly, the desire and skill to work well within a team structure, and the ability to perform functions independently.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of commercial real estate, basic GIS skills, ability to research available technology options and recommend solutions to enhance the EDA’s marketing efforts and improve productivity.

 Job duties will include the following:

  • Identify relevant data and research to assist the organization in improving its business attraction and retention efforts
  • Assist marketing staff by presenting new data in a persuasive marketing format
  • Support marketing staff by recommending real estate and detailed information to help answer questions required to meet prospect needs including responses to RFQs and RFIs
  • Utilize GIS and other technical skills to provide compelling information that highlights Henrico’s value proposition
  • Provide updates to including our Zoom Prospector platform to insure we are presenting up-to-date information to our customers
  • Continually identify and learn new and different technologies to more effectively and efficiently improve the EDA’s ability to compete in economic development and differentiate Henrico County in the marketplace; instruct and teach staff to use technology to improve their skills; provide assistance to visitors and customers who need to present information in the Board room
  • Serve as the EDA’s technology coordinator with primary responsibility to interface with the County’s Information Technology department.  This includes phone, computer, and other electronic equipment updates-both hardware and software.  Responsible for communicating technology concerns and solutions to staff
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Four-year college degree
  • Experience with Microsoft office platform, GIS, and Square Space
  • Experience using other IT technologies
  • Experience with databases
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly functioning team culture that requires excellent communications skills, adaptability and flexibility, can-do attitude, and the ability to self-start        

Starting salary for the position is $41,882.
